Daniel and I met through mutual friends while in undergrad at Auburn University in 2007. We were both dating other people at the time but always enjoyed being around one another. Daniel was spending every other semester working in DC and I was preparing for pharmacy school, so we eventually lost touch. Fast forward to November 2023! I've been in Birmingham for over 10 years and Daniel is originally from here. He happened to see a photo I posted on social media and decided to send a message since he would be visiting Birmingham over the holidays. We briefly caught up over messages and planned to get together in December. I was looking forward to it but had no idea what was in store! We met for dinner and drinks at El Barrio and The Collins Bar and the night flew by. It was as if we had always been together and we didn't want the night to end! We've been together ever since, navigating the distance and planning our future. Daniel proposed a year after we "met again," in the exact spot where we realized we didn't want to let each other go. Our time together has developed into a love that is truly one of a kind and we can't wait to join our lives together!
